Today was one of those days where your reflecting on everything that happened and all you can do is smile. I’m not sure what it was about today specifically, but everything just seemed to go right. I often watch YouTube vlogs of people’s “A Day In My Life” and I thought why not take a twist on that and make a blog post about what I did today!
Today I started the day off sleeping in until about 10 am and I was so well rested and ready to make the day great. Then I made Brian and I a cup of hot chocolate and we had our favorite Italian bakery bread with cheese and I added Trader Joe’s Everything but the bagel seasoning to be a little extra but it was so good- so if you don’t have that seasoning, I definitely recommend it! One of my dear friends bought mine for me and sent it to me from Texas! (Talk about a great friend!!)
After breakfast, I watched the beginning of the movie Before I Wake with family then hopped in the shower and got ready for the day!
We drove out to Teaneck, NJ to see one of my friends from college play in a basketball game. It was a friend that we hadn’t seen in a long time so we were excited to get the chance to meet up with him after.
On the way to the game, we stopped at Chick-Fil-A, which I was super excited about. I never lived near one and have only been about 4 times and I love their food.
I never tried their grilled nuggets so I gave them a try today and they were delicious! They are like chopped up chicken breast pieces and so flavorful! Plus I tried the Chick Fil A sauce and my only regret was not asking for more of it! I got the buffalo sauce too but after spending 4 years in Buffalo, I am super picky about my buffalo sauce and wasn’t a fan of theirs because it was really thin. The cherry on top was the waffle fries, truly a gift from heaven. 🙌🏼 Sorry for being so descriptive about the food, but your girl loves Chick Fil A!
So once I finished my glorious lunch feast, we went to the game and rooted for a fellow Griff alumni whose doing his masters at Robert Morris!
It was such a good game! The whole time there wasn’t more than a 4-5 point lead one way or the other. It had us on the edge of our seats the entire time but in the last two minutes, Robert Morris killed it and came out with a win! I was so happy for my friend!!
After the game, we got to catch up after not seeing each other since graduation. I got to congratulate him on his engagement and it was great to chat for a little!
Our drive home was amazing with absolutely no traffic to the GW bridge. If you have ever driven into the city, you know it’s a miracle to hit no traffic on the bridges/tunnels. There was absolutely no line in the EZ pass lanes either! It was like a dream come true.
We picked up some Boston Market for dinner and it was the perfect comfort food to get you in the mood for relaxation before bed! We got rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and my favorite- cornbread!
It was so great to have a relaxed day with family and a blessing for the streets to be so empty for us. It’s crazy how such a simple day brought me so much joy but life is all about seeing the silver linings and today was full of them! I hope your day was just as smooth and enjoyable and that the same goes for tomorrow!
Since this is a new type of post to come to my blog, let me know if you would like more of these “day in my life” types of posts!
