Today’s blog post isn’t so much about me sharing a ton of wisdom or ideas with you. Instead, I am hoping it will serve as a means to opening up dialogue between me and all of you! In the past few months, getting back into the habit of reading has been something I have been striving to achieve. After moving into my apartment after college, I brought a ton of books from my parents house to my new place and decided I wanted to start achieving this goal by reading all of the books in that pile… and there are a lot!
They are mostly teen/ young adult books by well known authors like Sarah Dessen and Ellen Hopkins. Since November I’ve read five of them and am working on the sixth. After starting to read more, I started taking down recommendations for books from YouTubers and other people who also love to read and have put a small list together of books I hope to buy once I read the ones I own and pass them on to my cousin so she can read them as well.
My list is small but from what I have heard about these titles, they pack a big punch! I am even more motivated to read through what I own so I can get my hands on some of these titles:
Body Positive Power – Megan Jayne Crabbe
The Underground Railroad – Colton Whitehead
The Mothers – Brit Bennett
My Husbands Wife- Jane Corry
The Woman in Cabin 10 – Ruth Ware
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – Taylor Jenkins Reid
I am really excited to read some adult level books and let you know what I think of them. I may even do a mini review after reading each new book, but it will be a while until I can start that venture. In the meantime, I wanted to open up the conversation with all of you to see what books you have read and loved!
To give you some context for what I enjoy reading, I am a bit of a sucker for a love story but am intrigued by mystery and suspense. I find that suspenseful moments in books are what keep me turning the pages. I have also read the Twilight and Hunger Games series in high school and liked them. I was in love with the Deadly Little Secret series by Laurie Stolarz but my Barnes & Noble didn’t carry the next book in the series I needed so I never finished them! If you have ever read any of them, you know they have the perfect balance of action and suspense with romantic drama.
Even if you have different taste in books, leave some recommendations down below and read what others have said in the comments and maybe you’ll get inspired to pick up one of their suggestions!!
I hope to create a stream of conversation on this post throughout the year so when I am able to pick up a new read, I have plenty of great recommendations and that you can use it for the same purpose!
Also, let me know if you have read any of the books already on my list and what your thoughts were!!

Until next time,
